It’s no secret that my family doesn’t eat out very much. We eat at home more times than not. However, when we do go through the drive-thru.. my husband always requests Taco Bell. It’s his thing. He is definitely a burrito man.
Now, usually he goes straight for the grilled steak stuffed burritos, this this time I convinced him to stray from his usual and embrace something a little different. You see, I was recently given to opportunity to try one of Taco Bell’s new Steak Cantina Burritos and I decided I wanted a burrito tasting partner. He didn’t object. Shocker, right?
By the way Taco Bell – if you ever need a professional burrito taste tester, my husband’s your guy.
My first impression of this burrito was WHOA. That sucker is huge! If you don’t get full with eating it, you may need to go to the doctor because it appears you have have been born with 2 stomachs. Just sayin’.
First bite in, and I was hooked. It’s not like any of the other burritos on the Taco Bell menu, it really tastes like something that you would get in a fancy Mexican restaurant – but minus the fancy Mexican restaurant price tag. It’s not spicy at all, but packed full of flavor. Fresh flavors at that. I mean, look at this thing….
Now, that’s a burrito.
I think my very favorite part of this was the creamy cilantro dressing – oh my word, SO good. It reminds me of my cilantro cream sauce, but with more citrus notes. Really fresh flavors, and I like that.
Chef Lorena Garcia sure knew what she was doing when she helped Taco Bell create these for the menu – yummers. Oh, and added bonus – she shares her recipe for Citrus Herb Marinated Chicken on the Taco Bell website. Man, doesn’t that sound absolutely divine?!
