A New Year, A New Plan

Happy New Year, everyone!  With the New Year, there comes resolutions - but I have never been big on resolutions.  I have made them before, but I never seem to follow thru with them.  They end up forgotten by the next week.

This year, I plan on making some changes though - but I pause on calling them resolutions.  Instead, I am approaching this new year with a new plan in mind.  Fact is - I'm busy, and I am failing when it comes to getting everything done that needs to be.  In addition to the Mrs, I work with Life Around Home as their cooking expert neighbor as well as homeschooling my 3 children. Well, 2 of them are homeschooled - and the boy is just toddling around getting into any possible thing he can find.  Plus, there is housework, and that is one thing that I have been struggling to stay caught up with.  Mount Laundry is going to erupt before long if I don't get a working schedule to operate from.

Another thing that needs to make a reappearance in my life is freezer cooking. I haven't done much of it in at least 6 months, and I miss it.  I miss having those meals in my freezer for the extremely busy days when I just don't have the energy to cook another meal from scratch.  I plan on doing my freezer cooking days in the second week of each month, and posting my results complete with some recipes for you guys here on the Mrs.

And, here is one more change.  I need to declutter my house - and work some good organization into this place!  So, I will be beginning a 52 week declutter & organizing challenge that I invite you all to participate in.  I will make a separate blog post about this shortly, but the general principal of it is to tackle one area in your home each week.  I plan on posting my progress here every week - complete with the embarrassing before & after photos.  So, look for the blog post coming soon about this, and if you have a blog - I would love for you to join me on this challenge!

So, for 2012 - my non resolution composes of this:

  • Operate on my new schedule with slots for homeschooling, blog work, housework, me time, and etc
  • Incorporate freezer cooking days back into my monthly routine
  • Perform a 52 week declutter & organizational mission on my house!

Do you make resolutions for the New Year, or are you more of a non-resolution type of person too?
