Tips For Success

Brushing the pigs in a blanket: Brushing the top of the crescent roll helps to create a golden exterior and a bit of crunch for the pigs in a blanket. If you want to add some seasoning to the top of the roll, brush with egg whites instead to help the seasoning stick.

Using hot dogs instead: If you’re in a pinch and can’t grab cocktail wieners, you can always use full hot dogs in their place. To make them bite-sized, cut the hot dogs into fourths.

Keeping it warm: This pigs in a blanket dip is best served warm. If it’s already baked but you’re not ready to serve it, keep the dip in the oven on warm so that it stays heated. Do not add the green onions until serving.

Making them in advance: You can make the pigs in a blanket ahead of time. Just chill them until you’re ready to bake. If you’re doing this, do not brush them with oil until you’re cooking them.

The chili cheese dip, however, is best made fresh.

Reheat the dip by placing everything in the oven at 350F and heating until warmed through (about 10 minutes).
