Recipe Tips & Tricks

Whether you make these boneless country-style ribs in the oven or slow cooker, here are some tips to help you get perfect results every time.

  • Don’t be worried that there’s not much liquid in this recipe – the ribs will cook down and create their own sauce, and when you add the barbecue sauce, they’ll be saucy and perfect.
  • If you cook them in the oven, make sure the foil is on tightly or use a tightly fitting lid to keep the ribs from drying out.
  • Salt and pepper are important – make sure you season the ribs well.
  • Add even more flavor by adding some sliced onion and a few smashed cloves of garlic to the ribs.

Storage

Keep any leftover country-style ribs in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat them in a covered baking dish in the oven at 325-F or in the microwave. You can also freeze these ribs – simply pack them in a freezer-safe plastic bag or container for up to 3 months. Then, just thaw, heat, and eat!

How Long Does It Take To Make BBQ Country Style Ribs In A Crockpot?

These country-style ribs will cook in your crockpot on low heat in about 6-8 hours. You want them to be fork tender but not totally shreddable. If you’re short on time, cook them on high for about 4 hours (or until they’re fork-tender), but I recommend low-and-slow for this tasty dish.

Yes! Follow the recipe instructions up until the step where it goes into the crockpot. Instead of slow cooking, bake at 350 for 2 hours or until your pork ribs are fork tender.
