Don't sweat the Buttermilk. Easy to make your own! One cup of regular milk and add 1 tsp. distilled white vinegar. Let sit for about 10 min. and it will thicken a little. Also, in the baking aisle at the grocery store, you can get a powdered product called "Cultured Buttermilk Blend". Comes in a can and you add (however much buttermilk the recipe calls for, there is a chart on the can) the amount for the amount of butter milk you need to your DRY ingredients. It is a powder, so it can be sifted into all dry ingredients. Then add your milk that is the amount of buttermilk you would use. It's that simple. Make sure you refrigerate it after you open the can or it will clump into a huge hard lump (ask me how I know this...ha ha). I very rarely have buttermilk on hand and my nearest store is 20 miles away, so, these are my go to substitutes. and they are a lot cheaper than buying buttermilk for a recipe you don't use very often.

Hope this helps some of you that don't want to purchase a qt. of buttermilk to get one cup. :)
