I have eaten roasted radishes before and enjoyed their mellow flavor. It suddenly struck me that fried radishes with onions and bacon would probably be great. I decided to try it after reading your recipe and a few reviews from others that had tried frying radishes. The only radish I could find at the time ere watermelon radishes. I bought a pound determined to try this. I used the ingredients suggested, cooked the bacon 1/2 way and fried the thinly sliced radishes in the resulting bacon fat I cooked them for about 35 minutes then added the chopped up bacon back in and cooked on low and covered for another 10-15 minutes - just like I make my fried potatoes. They were soft with some carmalized areas and were sensational! I am trying Daikon radishes tonight and will try peeling them as I read this takes away the spicyness.. The watermelon radishes tasted almost like fried potatoes with no spiciness at all. My whole family loved them.
