I trying to cut back on sugar, processed foods
I used a powdered coconut coffee creamer I found at grocery store. I just found Truvia brown sugar, so my next batch I will use it. Now to figure out the calories and all in it. This is really good on COLD days here in South/mid GA. Will have to try add I,g dried apples and cinnamon sometime
Thanks

Thanks for this. Most recipes I found were for single servings. I just didn't feel like doing the math in order to make a big batch.

THIS. IS. PERFECT!
At 3 1/2 months pregnant, these pesky cravings are getting to me!
Oatmeal is one of the big ones, but I don't like the after taste of store bought. (Weird? Probably..) I've tried making it at home but the consistency was always off.
You've fixed that issue! Yay!
I know what I'm getting at the store later. :)
I think I'll have to add some cinnamon and raisins though. ;)
Thank you for sharing!

Wonderful tutorial and Thank You for the recipe! My husband LOVES the packaged kind and can go thru a box in just a few days. He works hard and I try to get things as healthy as I can but now making this myself I will have more $ to shop better at the grocery store and still feed him right without all the preservatives :)
Just a suggestion for others...we have one of those jar sealers(does plastic bags too) and I will make this and seal it into jars so I won't have to make it as often. Then we just fetch another jar when needed from the pantry. It will stay fresh and because the oxygen is removed with the sealer it will keep longer.

I've done this before on my own, but I never thought of using the creamer! That's a good idea :) My kids mix in dried fruit, like these dehydrated cinnamon apple chips that we get from our local market, dried cranberries, dried cherries, and raisins. My daughter is a big sweet stuff fan, so she adds chocolate chips and mini marshmallows to her bags as well :)

You can definitely cut the oatmeal in half. With apple cinnamon, I'd add a few tablespoons of cinnamon & some dehydrated apples to the mix. OR - just add some cinnamon & diced cooked apples to the oatmeal after it has cooked.

Powdered milk is a dairy product, and it will mold over time. However, if you are planning on using the entire batch within a short period of time - it wouldn't be an issue.
