The greatest thing one can do, is to celebrate the memories and life of their loved one's...What you were able to have, most people like myself is not so blessed. And might still be lacking of..but lesson is ln life, "it's not about anyone else..it's about us..and how we live..and Cary on in our journey" It's awesome you had a great guy to enjoy your journey with; some do exist; may his soul rest in paradise

May I ask. How did he passed?

I've been married to my best friend since high school, too. We have a brine recipe that has been evolving for a few years now. I'll use yours this year and think of you.

I will not pretend to understand your grief but I lost my mother at 32 and I do understand how the world can suddenly change and no one else seems to notice. The sun would shine and the mail would come and it seemed terrible mundane considering how everything, every single thing, had just turned on its head.
It is hard to feel joy as we grieve. It is one tiny, happy thing that's surrounded by sorrow. Fortunately, feeling happiness in the memories comes to us one day and that's when the real work of honoring a memory begins. Staying sad and broken doesn't mean we love the person more just as laughing "too soon" means you loved them less. There's a season for everything. Don't let anyone make your calendar for you.
Count yourself as lucky for you spent time loving and being loved by your person. So many look for that their whole lives. They'll create substitutes for love with different things - jobs, drugs, money - or accept less than what they deserve. You were so lucky to have had the real thing. I hope your children have seen your example. You and your husband have shown them what love looks like. That's just about the best legacy we can give our children.
Happy Thanksgiving.

I have been a follower of your blog for some time now, and this post truly touched my heart today! I can't imagine your struggle over the past year in dealing with the loss of your husband, but listening to your testimony of your struggle and how you chose to overcome it is absolutely beautiful! It is a lesson that we can all learn from, be thankful for what we have now but also what we were blessed to have in the short time that we were allowed to have it. God has a plan for us all! Thank you for this reminder today!
