Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Cut each apple into 8 wedges and set aside. Separate the cinnamon roll dough & flatten the cinnamon rolls out with the palm of your hand, leaving the cinnamon flake side up. Roll each apple wedge in cinnamon roll dough & pinch the ends to seal - leaving the cinnamon flakes inside with the apples.
Melt butter in a small saucepan and stir in the sugar and cinnamon. Pour over the cinnamon roll apple dumplings. Pour Mountain Dew over the dumplings.
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown. Drizzle with the cream cheese frosting from the cinnamon roll cans. Serve with the sauce from the bottom of the pan.
