Jalapeno Popper Mummies

Ingredients

  • 6 fresh jalapeno peppers, cut in half - insides removed & stems left attached
  • 1 package refrigerated pizza dough, cut into strips
  • 2 oz cream cheese room temperature
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded Monteray jack cheese
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder optional
  • salt & pepper to taste optional
  • candy eyes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  • Mix together the cream cheese & shredded cheeses. Stir in the chili powder, if using. Stuff the cheese mixture into the hollowed out jalapeno halves.
  • Wrap the stuffed jalapeno halves with the refrigerated pizza dough strips, all mummy style - leaving an open place for the eyes to go.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the pizza dough is lightly browned & the cheese filling is hot and bubbly.
  • Let the jalapeno poppers cool for 10-15 minutes before topping with the candy eyes so that the eyes don't melt.
