Chocolate Overboard Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

For the cake:

  • 1 box of devil's food cake mix
  • 1 5.9 oz box of instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup warm milk heat it up slightly with the microwave, about 45 seconds
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

For the glaze:

  • 3/4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

For the cake:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the cake & pudding mixes, sour cream, oil, beaten eggs, and warm milk. Stir in the chocolate chips and pour the batter into a well greased 12 cup bundt pan.
  • Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until the top is springy to the touch & a toothpick inserted into it comes out clean. Cool the cake thoroughly before removing it from the pan.

For the glaze:

  • In a double boiler over hot, not boiling, water - combine chocolate chips, butter, & corn syrup. Stir until the chips are melted and the mixture is smooth, then add in the vanilla extract.
  • Pour or spread the warm glaze over the cooled bundt cake, letting it drizzle down the sides.
