Homemade Chocolate Syrup

Equipment

  • 1 Mason Jar
  • 1 Pot

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1 cup Hot Water
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Honey or Maple Syrup
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  • Start by adding all ingredients to a pot.
  • Whisk together ingredients until well incorporated.
  • Bring to a boil and then allow to simmer, stirring often, until it becomes thick. Do not let it burn! Give it a quick taste test at this point, and add additional sweeter if you wish. I used ¾ a cup but you can add an additional ¼ cup if you wish.
  • Pour into a mason jar and allow to cool. Then refrigerate.
  • Serve and enjoy on ice cream, strawberries, chocolate milk, and more. The possibilities are endless.
