Christmas Tree Cake Gooey Butter Bars - three of them lined up

Are you a fan of the Christmas Tree Cakes made by Little Debbie? They have quite the cult following. It seems as almost everyone is obsessed with them – including my son.

A few years ago, I made a dessert dip from those little snack cakes and it went viral. Since then, I’ve made a few other recipes using these little cakes.

Like these:

And now this one for Gooey Butter Cake featuring those splendid little Christmas Tree Cakes!

Every year, folks tell me that they have a hard time finding these cakes – so here’s a little insider tip for you. If you can’t find those cakes and want to make one of my recipes featuring the delicious snack cake, just buy their vanilla party snack cakes instead. You are chopping up the Christmas Tree Cakes and decorating them yourself, so you don’t have to necessarily use them if you can’t find them. The vanilla snack cakes taste exactly the same and no one will ever know the difference. That’s a good hack for Christmas in July too – or making any of these recipes the rest of the year.

Now, onto this particular recipe – Christmas Tree Cake Gooey Butter Cake!
