The coolest Cookbook inside of a 1959 Morticians Supply Planner

A few years ago, I went to an estate sale where I met a lovely older lady (who was the owner of the home the sale was in). We struck up a conversation and starting talking about cooking and that led into what I do for a living – creating, cooking, and sharing recipes with all of you! She asked me to hold on a second and she came back a few minutes later with this – a 1959 Morticians Supply Company planner/calendar filled from front to back with recipe clippings and handwritten recipes. She explained to me that it was her aunt’s personal cookbook and that she had passed many years ago and left it to her. She no longer cooked anymore and no one in her family did and she expressed that she wanted nothing more than to have those recipes live on. I tried to give her the cookbook back many times. How could I accept such a priceless gift? But she was determined that I was going to leave there with that cookbook.

It’s one of my most treasured possessions. I have cooked from it, loved it, and I absolutely cherish it. What a special, priceless gift! I wanted to share this special gift with all of you but I was unsure of the best way. I decided to do this – make a video and we could look at it together! I hovered over every single page for a few seconds so you can easily screenshot or write any recipes that you’d like to have. If there’s one that you really want and just can’t read it, shoot me an email or leave me a comment and I will do my best to get it to you!

I hope that this video brings you all as much joy as it brings me.
