Brown Sugar Cinnamon Muffins
I have been making these Brown Sugar Cinnamon Muffins for over 20 years. They are the easiest muffins ever – and they are so delicious!
My kids really love muffins in all shapes & forms, and to be honest – so do I.  One of my family’s very favorites are these delicious Brown Sugar Cinnamon Muffins. These strudel topped little babies with a brown sugar filling, and cinnamon dusted tops are unbeatable.
They’re a cinch to make, and you only need a handful of normal pantry ingredients to pull them off. Â Nothing fancy in here; only 7 ingredients to be exact. Â And boy, are they yummy! Â They also freeze beautifully! Â So, don’t be afraid to make up several batches of these to stick in the freezer for later.
What do you need to make Brown Sugar Cinnamon Muffins?
- 1 3/4 cups self rising flour
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup applesauce
- brown sugar, to taste
- cinnamon, to taste
Mix together the self rising flour & sugar. Add the egg, milk, & applesauce – mix well. Fill muffin cups a quarter of the way full with batter. Sprinkle on some brown sugar.  No exact measurement, just sprinkle some on.
I love recipes like this.
Cover with an equal amount of batter. Â Sprinkle on some more brown sugar & a little cinnamon as well.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes.
How easy was that?!
When you split them open, you’ll have a wonderful brown sugar layer waiting for you.
Yum!
Make these today. Like right now. Â You probably already have everything you need to pull it off anyway.
You know you wanna.

those look really good! Dumb question-what’s self rise flour? Is that like bread flour?
Self rising flour is regular flour that already has baking powder & salt added to it. You can always use regular flour plus 2 tsp baking powder & 1/4 tsp salt. 🙂
