I love creating fun holiday traditions with my family. Now, every Christmas morning we whip up our Christmas pancakes inspired by the Little Debbie cakes we all adore.

The kids love watching me cook the pancakes and help mix up the filling.

Their favorite part is building their own Christmas tree pancake stack and decorating with sprinkles and icing, just like the little snack cakes.

It’s a festive breakfast that’s simple, sweet, and full of holiday joy and a fun way to start Christmas day together.

Christmas Tree Pancakes Ingredients

  • Large Egg: It holds everything together and gives you fluffy pancakes.
  • Melted Butter: Adds richness and keeps the pancakes soft.
  • Cake Batter Extract: This gives your Christmas pancakes a sweet cake flavor.
  • Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake Creamer: Adds the classic Christmas tree flavor to the creamy pancake batter.
  • Flour: The base of your pancake batter.
  • Baking Powder: Helps your pancakes rise tall.
  • Salt: Just a pinch to balance the sweetness.
  • Sugar: Adds sweetness to the pancakes.
  • Crumbled Christmas Tree Cakes: They fold directly into the batter.
  • White Chocolate Chips: They melt into the center of the pancake as they cook.
  • Heavy Cream: Helps make the frosting smooth to drizzle on top.
  • White Frosting: This is your “snow.” Spread or drizzle it on with a squeeze bottle.

How to Make Christmas Tree Pancakes

Mix Your Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, add your flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Whisk everything together until it’s well mixed.

Add Your Wet Ingredients: Add in your large egg, melted butter, cake batter extract, and Christmas Tree Cake creamer. Use a hand mixer and beat until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Fold in the Christmas Tree Cakes: Gently fold in your crumbled Christmas Tree Cakes. Mix until the pieces are spread all through the batter.

Cook Your Pancakes: Heat a butter greased skillet over medium heat. The extra butter will keep them from sticking. Spoon or pipe the batter into the center of the pancake. I like to use a piping bag (or squeeze bottle) for less mess. Cook until the edges look set and the bubbles on top start to pop. Flip gently and cook until both sides turn a light golden color.

How to Store Leftovers

To store any leftover Christmas Tree Pancakes, let them cool completely, then place them in a single layer inside a freezer bag or airtight container. If you’re stacking them, put a little piece of parchment paper between each one so they don’t stick together.

They’ll keep in the fridge for a couple of days or in the freezer for about a month. When you’re ready to enjoy them again, just warm them up in the microwave or on a skillet and add your filling and toppings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make the pancake batter ahead of time?

Yes, you can mix the batter the night before. Just keep it covered in the fridge and give it a gentle stir before cooking.

Do I have to use the Christmas Tree Cake flavored creamer?

You don’t have to. You can swap it with vanilla coffee creamer, or half-and-half. The flavor will change a bit, but the pancakes will still turn out fluffy and delicious.

How do I keep the pancakes warm while I finish cooking the rest?

Place the cooked pancakes on a baking sheet and keep them in a low oven at 200°F. This keeps your stack warm without drying them out.
