Double Caramel Turtle Brownies
Ring the bells & toot the horns for today’s the day that Crystal was born!Â
Yup, it’s MY BIRTHDAY! That little ‘ring the bells & toot the horns’ thing is something that my Daddy would sing to me as a little girl when it was my birthday. 🙂
And since it’s my birthday, I’ve made myself my favorite brownie recipe and I decided to share it with all of you.
These are so decadent, and I absolutely love decadent chocolate desserts (with that nice fudgy chocolate).I also realllllyyyyy love caramel. Like a lot. I could probably eat a vat homemade caramel with a spoon. I mean I won’t… unless one of y’all have a vat of homemade caramel sitting around and you feel like making a dare. 😉
ANYHOW – I might as well eat what I want today because I’m celebrating being here for another year – 38 today!
If you love caramel, these are your brownies. Forever & ever. Like the Randy Travis song. Sing that song to them while you eat them. I’m gonna love you… forever and ever. Forever & ever. Ameeennnnn.
Achem.
Ok, I’m done. For now…
I’m gonna go celebrate me for the day. I have plans to get a pedicure, get my eyebrows done, and get a massage. Maybe I’ll eat brownies while I do all of the above. Who knows. Today is ME day & I’m celebrating.
Now, go get this extremely delicious brownie recipe and make them immediately. You’ll thank me later.Â
Double Caramel Turtle Brownies
Ingredients
- 11 oz bag caramel bits
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk
- 1 box of Devil's Food Cake Mix
- 1/3 cup evaporated milk
- 3/4 cup butter melted
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans or more if you like
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Pour the caramel bits into a microwavable safe bowl. Stir in 1/2 cup evaporated milk. Heat and stir with a whisk until all caramels are melted in 45 second intervals. This may take a few times.Â
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9x13 inch pan with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix together the cake mix, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, melted butter, and chopped pecans. Place 1/2 of the batter in prepared baking pan & spread to fit pan. I usually use my hands for this because it works better. Spray your hands with nonstick spray or use kitchen gloves to avoid stickage.
- Place the remaining batter into the fridge.
- Bake for 8 minutes.
- Remove brownies from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Drizzle caramel sauce over chocolate chips. Remove brownie batter from refrigerator. Make small balls with the batter with a spoon and smash flat. Place on top of the caramel sauce.
- Bake for an additional 20 minutes. Remove and let cool.
