Hot Cheesy Crab Dip

Hot Cheesy Crab Dip is one of my favorite appetizers ever. I love it so much that I often order it at a restaurant as my main dish.

This recipe is way better than any restaurant version that I’ve had. It’s simple to make too!Hot Cheesy Crab Dip in a vintage round pyrex dish

One of my favorite appetizers is a delicious hot and cheesy crab dip. I love it so much that I order it as a main dish at restaurants a lot of the time. It’s super simple to whip up at home too though and I do so a lot.

When I have a lot of computer work to do for the blog, my store, and/or homeschool planning – this crab dip makes a wonderful ‘snacky kind of meal’ for me. I love the feeling of snacking as a meal, always have – always will. 😉 Anyone else with me on that?

Of course, you don’t have to eat this as a meal – that’s just what I tend to do! It also makes for a great party snack or appetizer for your own dinner table. This is a MUST at our Super Bowl party each year.

Side note: this also makes a delicious filling for stuffed shells. Just make this, stuff it inside of cooked shells – and top it with my cheesy Alfredo sauce. Basically make them the same way as this recipe here, but swap out the filling called for for this crab dip. I will eventually make a separate post for that recipe.

So, what do I need to make this Hot Cheesy Crab Dip you are speaking so highly of?

Here’s your ingredient list!

As always, you can find the full printable and/or screenshot-able recipe at the bottom of this post.

There is also a video tutorial from yours truly right above the full recipe.

  • cream cheese
  • sour cream
  • mayonnaise
  • old bay seasoning
  • garlic powder
  • cayenne pepper (optional)
  • crab meat
  • chopped green onions
  • sharp cheddar cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste

How do I make it?

You simply just mix all the ingredients together, folding in the crab meat and green onions last. Then, spread it into a 2 quart baking dish and let it cook for 20 minutes at 375 degrees. Easy peasy!

What do I serve the crab dip with?

My personal favorite things to serve this with is toasted French bread slices or these Baked Seasoned Ritz Crackers.

Use your imagination, or serve whatever you like with it. There are so many sorts of crackers on the market that would be perfect with this and just plain ritz crackers are delish too. Raw vegetables are another option and so is toasted ravioli.

It’s also good just eaten with a spoon 😉
