How to Make the Cookies and Cream Dessert Cheese Ball
Get Your Ingredients Ready: Set out your cream cheese and butter so they’re at room temperature. Grab a large mixing bowl and toss in the cream cheese, butter and powdered sugar.
Mix it Up: Use a hand mixer or electric mixer on high speed. You want it nice and smooth, with no lumps.
Stir in Crumbled Oreos: You can crush the Oreo cookies with a rolling pin, or pulse them in a food processor until they are finely crumbled. Then stir and fold them into the creamy base.
Knead with Your Hands: This is the messy and fun part! Put on some gloves if you want to keep your hands clean. Knead the cream cheese mixture with your hands until it’s well combined.
Roll into a Ball Shape: Once everything’s well mixed, roll it into one large ball. Wrap it in plastic wrap and place in the fridge for an hour.
Divide and Shape the Bunny: After the cheese ball mixture has chilled, divide it into one large ball for the bunny’s body, one small ball for the head, and two evenly shaped ovals for the ears. Then create a bunny shape on your serving platter.
Flatten and Shape: Gently press down on each part of the bunny and flatten it down. Use your fingers to smooth and shape it.
Decorate: Cover the entire bunny in pink sanding sugar, which will help it resemble a giant Peep bunny. Add chocolate chips to make the bunny’s eyes and nose.
Surround with Dippers: Place a ring of graham crackers and vanilla wafters around your bunny.
Recipe Tips
- Wear Gloves: This is a very messy dessert to make! Since you need to use your hands to knead and roll, gloves are a must to keep your hands clean.
- Flour Your Hands: Even if you are wearing gloves, a little flour on them will help the ingredients from sticking to your gloves.
