Baked Shrimp Dip Ingredients

  • Cream Cheese: This is the base of the dip, making it extra creamy and rich. Let it sit at room temperature so it blends smoothly.
  • Mayonnaise: Helps keep the dip extra creamy.
  • Sour Cream: Brings a little extra tangy flavor and makes the dip smooth.
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese: A melty cheese gives the dip a cheesy and slightly sharp flavor.
  • Shredded Pepper Jack or Monterey Jack Cheese: Either one works for this dip. Pepper Jack cheese has spice, while Monterey Jack is milder.
  • Old Bay Seasoning: This classic seasoning gives this dip a bold, savory seafood flavor. You can also use your favorite seafood seasoning if you don’t have Old Bay.
  • Worcestershire Sauce: Adds a deep, slightly tangy, and salty flavor. Just a splash makes a difference.
  • A Few Splashes of Hot Sauce: Brings a little heat to the dip. Add more if you like it spicy!
  • Cooked Shrimp, Chopped: Use pre-cooked shrimp, chopped it into small pieces, and fold it into the dip. Fresh shrimp works great too if you cook it first.
  • Garlic, Minced: Garlic adds a warm, savory flavor to your dip.
  • Green Onions, Thinly Sliced: Scallions add a little freshness and a mild onion flavor to balance the cheesy shrimp dip.

How to Make Baked Shrimp Dip

  • Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375 so it’s nice and hot when your dip is ready to bake.
  • Mix the Ingredients: In a large bowl combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, cheddar cheese, and Pepper Jack (or Monterey Jack) cheese. Sprinkle in Old Bay seasoning, then add a splash of Worcestershire sauce and a few dashes of hot sauce. Mix everything together until smooth. A handheld electric mixer works great for this!
  • Bake the Dip: Spoon the mixture into a baking dish and spread it out evenly. Place it in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is melted, the top is golden brown, and the dip is hot and bubbly.
  • Serve Hot: Let the dip cool for just a minute, then serve it warm with dippers of your choice.
