Hawaiian Roll Cinnamon Rolls
I still remember the first time I made these Hawaiian roll cinnamon rolls for my family.
It was one of those mornings when I wanted something special without spending hours in the kitchen.
I pulled out a pack of sweet Hawaiian rolls, mixed up a little butter, sugar, and cinnamon, and before I knew it, the house smelled like a bakery.
We gathered around the table, and they disappeared quicker than I could set them down. I couldn’t believe that these shortcut cinnamon rolls turned out so dang delicious – and in under 30 minutes at that!

These easy cinnamon rolls are perfect for feeding a larger crowd on holiday mornings like Christmas morning or Easter brunch, but they’re simple enough for a weekday morning too.
They rival your favorite cinnamon roll recipe but in half of the time!
Why You’ll Love Hawaiian Roll Cinnamon Rolls
- Easy cinnamon rolls with no rising time needed—ready in minutes.
- Made with King’s Hawaiian rolls for a soft, sweet flavor.
- Great for feeding a larger crowd at brunch or family gatherings.

Ingredients for Hawaiian Roll Cinnamon Rolls
- King’s Hawaiian Rolls: A package of these fluffy rolls add a slightly sweet base to your cinnamon rolls.
- Softened Butter: It melts down into every bite, helping the filling stick and making the rolls extra rich.
- Brown Sugar: Adds a classic gooey texture found in traditional cinnamon rolls.
- Cinnamon: The key flavor in this cinnamon roll recipe.
- Pinch of Salt: It balances the sweetness and makes all the flavors pop.
- Salted Butter: Melted salted butter is used to mix into the glaze.

Ingredients for the Glaze:
- Powdered Sugar: Melts into a sweet drizzle that’s the perfect finish.
- Vanilla Extract: A splash of vanilla extract in the glaze adds a warm, homemade flavor.
- Heavy Cream: It gives the glaze its creamy texture.
Cook’s note: They are also delicious topped with my homemade Cream Cheese Frosting!
How to Make Hawaiian Roll Cinnamon Rolls
Mix the Filling: In a mixing bowl, add your softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Mix on high until it’s creamy and well combined.

Prepare the Rolls: Grab your 12-count package of Hawaiian Rolls and cut them in half, making a bottom half and a top half of the rolls. Place the bottoms in a baking dish.
Spread the Filling: Spread half of your cinnamon mixture over the bottom half of the rolls. Place the tops back on, then spread the rest of the mixture over the top of the rolls.

Bake: Bake at 350°F for about 10 minutes, until the tops are nice and golden brown. Let them cool until they are warm, but no longer hot.

Make the Glaze: While the rolls are cooling, add ½ cup of the salted butter to a mixing bowl. Beat with a mixer until smooth. Alternate adding a cup of powdered sugar and some heavy cream, mixing continuously until all your powdered sugar is incorporated.
Mix on high until smooth and creamy. Stir in the vanilla extract, then mix one more time. You can add additional cream if you like a thinner glaze. Add a tablespoon at a time.

Glaze the Rolls: Spread the glaze all over your Hawaiian cinnamon rolls. Or top with my homemade cream cheese frosting.

Ways to Serve:
- Fresh out of the oven for a warm, gooey treat.
- As a quick breakfast on a busy morning.
- With fresh fruit or bacon on the side to round out the meal.

How to Store Leftovers
If you’ve got leftover cinnamon rolls, just let them cool to room temperature first. Then cover the baking dish with plastic wrap or aluminum foil, or move the rolls into an airtight container.
They’ll stay soft and tasty on the counter for a couple of days, or you can pop them in the fridge to keep them fresh a little longer.
When you’re ready for a warm cinnamon roll again, just heat them up in the microwave or oven.
