Viral Disneyland Grilled Cheese
We used to visit the Disney parks when my kids were younger and my favorite thing about the happiest place on earth is the food.
A viral favorite is a grilled cheese sandwich recipe that comes straight from Disneyland.
When pictures and videos began to be posted, everyone was lining up to get their hands on one. Everybody wanted to try it, and I needed to figure out how to make it at home.
This copycat Disneyland grilled cheese is also similar to a newer sandwich at Woody’s Lunchbox in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. (Though that one uses double gloucester cheese.)
Now you don’t have to hop on a plane to enjoy it. You can make this Disney favorite right in your own kitchen.

Why You’ll Love the Disneyland Grilled Cheese
- It’s extra creamy and cheesy.
- The crispy, golden bread on the outside, and soft in the middle.
- Big Disney flavor without leaving your kitchen.
- Perfect comfort food. Great for lunch, dinner, or whenever you’re craving something special.
- Kid-friendly and family-approved.

Ingredients for Disneyland Grilled Cheese
- White Bread: Choose thick slices of bread to hold all of the gooey filling.
- Sharp Cheddar Cheese: These bold, flavorful cheddar slices bring a rich, tangy bite.
- Provolone Cheese: The smooth and melty slices of provolone cheese balance out the sharp cheddar.
- Cream Cheese: Creates a cream cheese mixture for the middle of the sandwich.
- Shredded Mild Cheddar Cheese: The extra cheddar cheese melts right into the cream cheese spread.
- Heavy Cream: A little heavy cream helps smooth out the cream cheese mixture and makes it easy to spread.
- Salt: Just a pinch of kosher salt brings all the flavors together.
- Mayonnaise: It’s used on the outside of the bread instead of butter for a perfect golden brown finish.
- Minced Garlic: Adds a punch of flavor to create a garlic mayo spread.

How to Make Disneyland Grilled Cheese
Make the Creamy Filling: Grab a mixing bowl and add your cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, a splash of heavy cream, and half the salt. Stir it all together until it’s smooth and creamy. Set it aside for a minute.

Mix the Garlic Spread: In a small bowl, stir together your mayo, minced garlic, and the rest of your salt. The easy spread is what gives your sandwich extra flavor and helps the outside of the bread get nice and crispy.

Build the Sandwich: Lay out your slices of bread on a large cutting board. On one slice, add two slices of cheddar and two provolone slices. Then spread on half of the creamy filling. Place the second slice on top to close it up. Now spread the garlic mayo on the outside of the bread on both sides.

Cook Low and Slow: Heat up a skillet over medium heat. Place your sandwich in the skillet and let it cook until the bread turns golden brown. Flip it and cook the other side the same way.

Slice and Serve: Once both sides are crispy and the cheese is melted, take it off the heat. Slice it in half and serve it up warm.
