Whole30 Air Fried Pork Chops

These Air Fried Whole30 Pork Chops are absolutely delicious and super easy to make. They’re made with a pork rind breading & are gluten free.

Air fried whole30 friendly pork chops

I do a Whole30 reset every January and I have done this for a couple of years now. If you’re familiar with the Whole30 diet, then you know that there are a ton of foods that are ‘no-no’ and my typical fried pork chops that are coated with seasoned flour & fried in vegetable oil are most definitely not on the approved foods list.

Fried pork chops are one of my most favorite meals though – as well as my son’s. So, I decided to try my hand at creating a delicious Whole30 friendly fried pork chop. Heavy on the delicious part because no matter how much I’m missing a food, I refuse to give up flavor just to have it. I’d rather go without until I can have it rather than making something that is kinda sorta reminiscent in an unappetizing way. Right?

Well, not to toot my own horn or anything (okay.. maybe a little. Toot, toot! … Toot.) but these air fried pork chops are nothing short of amazing. Perfect crispy crust, juicy and flavorful insides – they are seriously great. My only regret is not creating this recipe sooner! They are so good that I will totally make these again and again, even when I’m not doing a #Whole30 reset.

What ingredients do I need to make these Whole30 Air Fried Pork Chops?

This list is super simple and super short – which is always a good thing.

Here’s the cast of ingredients:

  • pork chops (I used boneless but you can also use bone in)
  • Egg
  • a splash of water
  • pork rind panko/bread crumbs (I used Pork Panko – check the ingredient label to make sure they are compliant – you can also make your own from compliant pork rinds)
  • salt & pepper, to taste

Pork panko and chicharron salt

I really like to switch out the salt for Chicharron Salt (which is also whole30 friendly) but it’s not necessary. I use the chicharron salt for my salt anytime I cook with pork, I’m a huge fan of it.

I’ve got the ingredients. How do I prepare these Whole30 Air Fried Pork Chops?

It’s so simple!

Mix the egg with a splash of water and a sprinkle of salt and pepper until combined. Then moisten the pork chops with the egg wash mixture on all sides, and then dredge the coated pork chops in the pork rind panko/bread crumbs making sure to thoroughly coat them. Set the dredged pork chops aside to rest for 15-20 minutes. I love using my nifty breading station for this. This will keep the breading from falling off while it’s cooking.

Next, preheat your air fryer for 5 minutes on 400 degrees. Place your pork chops into the air fryer, in one even layer and cook them for about 16-20 minutes – flipping halfway. I like my fried food a little more on the well done side than some folks so I cook mine about 20 minutes total. If you like yours more a golden brown, I’d aim for closer to 16. Just make sure you flip it halfway through!

Once the pork chops are fried to your liking, season them to taste with salt (or chicharron salt) & pepper, if desired.

YUM! Gluten free, low carb, paleo, keto, whole30 – all that! LOL And SO delicious!
